When Dave and I first moved to the Mount Pleasant and Davisville neighbourhood, we were excited about all the great restaurants we could walk to. Well, we’ve been here two years now and we’re still finding new favourites! A couple of months ago, we decided to try Pallucci, an Italian restaurant just up the street. Am I ever glad we did! Dinner was wonderful (their bread is to die for), and we were so impressed with our meal that we recommended the restaurant on Gigpark (if you’re unfamiliar with this service, you should really go check it out!).
A few weeks later I got a call from Michelle Siomra, one half of the husband/wife team that has owned and operated Pallucci since 2000. She found my website through the recommendation I had written, and wanted to get some headshots for her husband Neil, who is the head chef at their restaurant. I love when local connections happen!
I was thrilled to meet the people behind such a delicious kitchen. It turns out Neil’s not only a great chef, but he’s also super friendly, an involved father, an active community member, and a cooking TV star! How does he find the time?
On the day of our shoot, the weather was feeling uncooperative, but we stayed indoors at the restaurant and got some great results anyway.
We started with a few casual shots in their party room upstairs.

My favourite shots of the day definitely came from our session in the kitchen. I guess the kitchen truly is where all the magic happens!

My favourite shot of all – how intense is this? That looks like a man who knows his kitchen!

Pallucci is participating in Summerlicious , which is on now until July 19. If you haven’t had a chance to try them yet, this would be a great chance to go!
